On 29 January 2008, the European Commission re-launches the Debate Europe forum. The Commission will interact with the public permanently and not just on the launch day. The event is connected to “Communicating Europe via the Internet: Being Global, Going Local”, the new Internet strategy.
On 29 January 2008, from 15.00 to 17.30, Commissioners Dimas, Piebalgs and Wallstrom, as well as other Commission representatives, will be online to engage in a public debate, in different language channels, namely all official languages and Catalan. A network of moderators will ensure the "cross-fertilisation" between the channels.
All the teachers who are members of the European Schoolnet networks are invited to take part in the debate as individual citizens or with their classes. Participants will be able to get a head start by creating a username that morning.
