This is a mini Web-based classroom project which was running under Together in Europe, a Spring Day activity aiming at matching schools in pairs. The project was carried out by pupils of Class 7a in Hindsholmskolen School in Dalby, Kerteminde, Denmark and pupils of Class 6 in Nareg School, Nicosia, Cyprus, between March and June 2004.
The coordinating teachers were Peter Rasmussen (Denmark) and Nora Nadjarian (Cyprus).
The two classes used e-mail as a communication channel. Pupils assisted by the coordinating teachers exchanged information on typical meals of each country, a typical daily routine and eating habits for pupils at each of the schools, pictures and recipes.
Finally, the Danish pupils found two typical Cypriot recipes, and the Cypriot pupils checked them. Then, the Cypriot pupils found two typical Danish recipes and the exchange was complete!
Nora, the Cypriot teacher tells us: "My pupils have really enjoyed all the exchange of info between the two schools, and I also want to thank you for introducing me to Peter Rasmussen, who has been very helpful and collaborative." Peter Rasmussen is the Danish teacher, member of the myEUROPE Advisory board, while Nora represents her country in the Spring Day teacher group.
