What is the Eurodrawing project? To say it in a simple way, its aim is to have children from the EU to draw one big picture. A picture of a place they want to live in. The place is called Europe.
We would like to draw a huge 150 metres long picture and involve as many children from different parts of EU as possible. Each 10 metres will be drawn by children from a different school in a different country. In the end there will be at least 15 schools from 15 EU countries that will participate in the picture drawing.
A part of the project is intercommunication of the co-working schools. Children will exchange information about the city they live in experience they had with the project, they will make friends, practice English language etc.
The intercommunication among the schools will be done via e-mail, internet phones or videoconference. If all our ideas come true the project will be ended in Brussels as a part of an international event. It all depends on negotiation and especially on finance cover, in relation to how much money we will manage to raise.
The picture is not the aim of our project, but it is only a tool to achieve the main intention - a closer communication amongst nationalities. Our intention is to establish firm contacts amongst schools in the EU, based on personal meetings and shared experiences. We plan to rerun the project (in two years time) including new schools and still cooperate with the school that are already involved in the project. In a few years time there could be a net of schools with delegates knowing one another and using these contacts for future interactivities. At the same time the project will show to children that when we get together, we manage to do great things and it does not matter what language we speak or what country we live in.
