The European Landowner's Organisation (ELO) represents millions of landowners throughout Europe. The ELO seeks to develop European solutions to the challenges which will face European decision-makers in the years to come. At the same time the ELO, supported by its Secretariat in Brussels, is best placed to advice on draft European legislation which affects those who live and work in the countryside.
Schools are invited to take part at the European Country Fair in Hex Castle (Limburg) on 22 September 2006. Three themes will be developed during the day: "Visit the castle and taste the garden's food": a visit of the castle and lots of activities around the garden… "Take a walk in the woods and make a house for little birds": learn to observe and care for birds, meet a forest ranger, and make a collection of leaves … "Visit the farm and learn all about farming": see the farm at work, see the cows being milked, animals being fed, tractors working the soil… Throughout the day children will have the possibility to meet various rural actors who will explain their activities.
European Country Fair is an initiative organised by ELO (European Landowners' Organization) and supported by the European Commission. Les écoles sont invitées à participer à l'European Country Fair au château de Hex (Limbourg) le 22 septembre 2006. Trois thèmes seront développés pendant la journée: " Je visite le château et je mange les produits du jardin " : visite du château et activités sur le thème du potager…. " Je me promène dans les bois et je construis une maison pour les petits oiseaux " : apprendre à observer les oiseaux, rencontrer un forestier, récolter des feuilles et en faire un herbier… " Je visite la ferme et j'apprends tout sur le travail à la ferme " : voir la ferme en activité y compris la traite des vaches, le soin des animaux, les tracteurs travaillant le sol…. Pendant la journée les enfants pourront rencontrer de nombreux acteurs de terrain qui leur expliqueront leurs activités.

De scholen zijn uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan de European Country Fair die plaats neemt op 22 september 2006 op Kasteel Hex (Limburg) 3 themas zullen er worden uiteengezet gedurend de ganse dag: "Ik bezoek het kasteel en eet de tuin": bezoek van het kasteel en activiteiten rond de moesttuin… "Ik wandel in de bossen en maak een huisje voor de vogels": de vogels leren observeren, een bosbouwer ontmoeten, blaadjes rapen en een herbarium maken…. "Ik bezoek de boerderij en leer alles over landbouw": de boerderij in activiteit zien, het melken van de koeien, de dieren voeden, de tractors aan het werk… Tijdens deze dag zullen de kinderen tal landelijke actors ontmoeten die hun activiteiten zullen promoten.
European Country Fair is een initiative van ELO (European landowners' Organization) met de steun van de Europees Commissie. Het brengt op 22, 23 en 24 september 2006 alle representatieve verenigingen uit de landelijke wereld samen in het kader van de communicatie campagne "From Belgium to Europe with Natura 2000".
