Earthwatch Earthwatch is an environmental organisation that sends kids and teachers on scientific research projects around the world. They work on a range of subjects - from analysing deer populations in Oxfordshire, UK to assessing the environmental impact of tourism on species in Costa Rica. There are a number of grants available.
Childnet Awards The Cable & Wireless Childnet Awards award prizes for innovation and participation across borders by highlighting and rewarding great projects. Children and others working at developing outstanding, innovative Internet projects are eligible. Projects that directly benefit other children worldwide and encouraging those with limited resources to extend what they are doing are particularly encouraged.
A Travel Around Europe Competition, Poland
This is a European computer graphic arts competition organized by polish
schools from Wroclaw. Use a computer graphics editor and describe your trips
and travels in Europe. All the contributions will be displayed in a virtual
exhibition and the best will be rewarded.
European Waste Award for Youth
The municipality of Vienna-Austria is planning to organise a European award
for youth. This award aims to recognise the best projects on “reducing
waste” (at school, at home, etc.).
The award consists of 3 categories
according to the age range of participants: 6 - 10, 10 - 14, 14 – 18.

SO/DI Postcard Contest
SO/DI is an international multimedia expression contest proposing to groups
of children to create virtual wishes digital post cards using multimedia
resources provided at school.
It is open to the children of kindergartens and primary schools

Annual Innovation Prize, Altran Foundation
The 2004 Award Call for Applications for the Altran Foundation for
Innovation annual Prize has been launched and its theme is: 'Discovering,
understanding and enjoying Science through innovation'.

This 2004 Award is under the patronage of Mr Philippe Busquin, Commissioner
for Research and Member of the European Commission.
The sub-sections are:
- Discovering science: helping as many individuals as possible learn about
science by providing them with access to scientific information and culture.
- Understanding science: facilitating the exploration and assimilation of
scientific concepts, principles, and theories.
- Enjoying science: making science more appealing.
