In February this year, Childnet Academy announced the winners of its annual Cable & Wireless Program, in London. The Academy rewards individuals or group of people who run interesting Web-based projects or plan new projects which involves children worldwide.

The competition entries should show clear benefits for as many children as possible. This year the competition attracted more than 250 entries from over 40 countries worldwide and the winners are from Australia, Italy, Ireland, Jamaica, Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, USA and the UK.

The project team"A Golden Schoolday" is a project commended by Childnet. It is an on-line book published by the cowboys'n' girls from Riihenmäki Comprehensive School, a myEUROPE school in Finland.

The project idea is to connect children from Europe and other continents through email, to share ideas and suggestions about their dream schoolday, promoting peace, tolerance and cooperation.

Riihenmäki Comprehensive School is also a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network in Education for International Cooperation and Peace.

The project coordinator, Poju Vainio, is a school counsellor and also a member of the myEUROPE advisory board.
