About our school: · The school is situated in the center of Eforie Nord, a small town on the Romanian Black Sea Coast. · The school has been built in 1963, having 10 classrooms. · It has a Computers lab with 12 PC, E-mail and, since 2000, full Internet access. · The school has a Physics-Chemistry laboratory and a Geography cabinet. · The school has a handball playground.
The teachers: In our school there are 28 teachers: 9 primary school teachers and 19 secondary school teachers. Since 1999 in our school works a Peace Corps volunteer.
The students: In the school year 2000/2001 in our school are learning 448 students, as it follows: · 196 students in primary school. · 248 students in secondary school
Students results: · Awards at the local contests in Romanian and Mathematics · Between 1997-2000 third and fourth places at the local Football competitions. · At the end of the school year 2000/2001, 95.10% of our students passed the final exams.
Projects we are involved in Our school is I*EARN member since 1998. The students of the school participated in some I*EARN projects: ‘Flowers and symbols’, ‘Rare animals in my country’, ‘Local history’, ‘E’99’, ‘If rocks could talk...what would they say?’ In future, participation in international projects will improve with the help of Terri Chun, Peace Corp volunteer in our school in 2000/2002. I*EARN projects that we proposed. · ‘Me and my pet’ announced in 1998 and that is still running, in the third edition. · ‘Memories about Communism’, begun like a national project and is running in 2000/2001 as an international one.
Since 2000 our school is member MyEurope and we had the opportunity to participate in some chats organized by it.
