Professional Mechano-Electrotechnical High School of Haskovo, Bulgaria
Our school promotes education in a European manner. The school was founded in 1948, as a National Mechano - Eletrical High School with the name "Stoicho and Kitsa Marchevi", and it is one of the oldest in the Region of Haskovo.
Our school is well known for its traditional approaches of teaching methods based on the experience and professionalism of the people who work here.
The professional education provides teaching in the common high school subjects in order to get a qualification as a worker. The exam runs in several stages: Bulgarian Language and Literature, one of a school subject at student choice, and the theory and practice in the chosen field. There are about 700 students and the average age is 15 - 19 years old. It is a secondary education level public school and offers technical vocational education in the following fields:
Technician of Computer systems;
Electronic tech;
Machines and Apparatus for food, wine and tobacco industries;
Machines and Apparatus for metal training;
Electrical network of manufacturing factories;
Communication equipment;
Thermal and Air conditioning tech;
The school tries to combine theory with practice. It also focuses on preparing the students to become good citizens. Equal opportunities and means are given to all students. In our school, education is the result of the cooperation among teachers, parents and the public authorities.
In our school we have got three projects granted by the European Union:
1. Theoretical and practical training in 'CAD software' - students had the opportunity to pass the training practice in a German company `Elop-training and engineering`;
2. Improve the cable-line communication infrastructure, by providing employment for people`. 20 people got a qualification on a profession.
3. Professional training of welders / in European standards / and fitters of heating and air-conditioning systems for providing machine-building companies needs in Haskovo Municipality area. Many unemployed and employed people got a certificate for welding from the licensed manufacturer `TUF Rain land Bulgaria`.
The education in our school aims to increase the quality of professional training set in European standards, set up new studies and labs according to them. Establishing a durable partnership and improving the professional competence it is a necessary step towards increasing young peoples skills and acquiring new knowledge.
