Volksschule Weizbergis an elementary school situated in Weiz a small town in the south-east part of Austria between Graz and Vienna.
Our school has a long tradition. The first mention was about 500 years ago.
Today 226 pupils aged from 6 to 10 are learning with 11 class teachers. Most of our pupils are in school from 8:00 to 1:00 p.m., only a small group (about 25) stays at school in the afternoon. We have special teachers for religion, crafts and exercising speaking.
The important educational aim is learning with all senses. We do lots of exciting things at our school like computers, physical education, visual arts, performing arts and we have lots of fun in our classrooms.
Our children like to be outside playing soccer and different running games. In wintertime we go skiing and skating.
Celebrating festivals during the schoolyear with our families give us joy and strenght.
We are lucky having modern equipment to work with multimedia in all classes. So our pupils and teachers have enough opportunities to develop skills for using ICT.
We start our international contacts in 1996 with a Comenius project with France, Finland and Scotland. Now we enjoy collaboration with many countries in different projects you can see on our web site: http://vs.weizberg.net
The girls and boys of 3c are excited by the European Internet Project called Stars.
Then we also have good contact and collaboration work to schools in Sweden, Belgium and France.
