I teach English in Debrecen, Hungary. Our city is the second biggest city of the country and it is situated in the eastern part. Last year my school had a so called “Bear” project which run in German. The bear soft toy travelled around the world.
When it was in our school the kids could take it home and had to take photographs with the bear in different places (e.g. school canteen, living-room at home, in front of famous places of the city).
Then they had to comment their pictures, just a few words where the photo was taken and why. Kids loved it, as there were 15 students in this bear-group and all of them could take it home, even took it on vacation.
This year we are going to run our own project with a travel buddy. The project addresses to pupils from 10 to 13 years old. We should choose a national animal's puppet, take photos with it with the members of the class, write a short diary when the photo was taken and why. We of course should introduce our country and ourselves on the first page.
I would like to send it to several countries, they should take our puppet with them and take photos and write in our diary, so this puppet could travel to lots of places in the world. By the end of May it must arrive back to our school. Finally I would put the outcome on our homepage and let the other participants know about it.
