127 years ago some European countries, such as Russia, Romania, and Finland, gathered together to help Bulgarian people to get rid of Turkish slavery and give them freedom. On 9th November we celebrate Vratza Liberation Day.
We think this is a symbolic day because in 2007 Bulgaria and Romania will become members of the European Union family and in 2007 it will be 130 years from that great historical moment: liberation of Vratza and Bulgaria.

Picture 2: On this day citizens celebrate Vratza Liberation Day with a public prayer on the hill where the statue of Russian cavalryman-the herald of liberation from Turkish slavery is.
Picture 3: Students and teachers from our school were there, too. They bowed their heads down in memory of unknown warriors.
Pictures. 4, 5, 6: After the feast all official guests-ambassadors of some of the countries, some members of Bulgarian Parliament and the mayor, visited our school after the ceremony. They were met by the headmaster, students and teachers.
